My name is Christopher Sadler and I’m a heart failure survivor. Eleven years ago, I had heart failure and was subsequently diagnosed with a condition called Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Coming within minutes of death has given me a heightened perspective on life. It’s been my mission to find purpose and meaning through my life-threatening illness. To celebrate my ten year heart anniversary, I created Team Chris to participate in and raise money for the American Heart Association’s Boston Heart Walk.
According to the American Heart Association, “about 92.1 million American adults are living with some form of cardiovascular disease or the after-effects of stroke.” (heart.org) A donation to Team Chris would help fund valuable American Heart Association research and educational programs to raise awareness of the importance of living a heart healthy lifestyle. All the funds raised by Team Chris will be given to the American Heart Association.
The American Heart Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (Federal tax-exempt ID number: 13-5613797) whose mission is “to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.”
